Salisbury Named CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week Courtesy: Seattle University Release: September 21, 2011 - 12:2 PM

Seattle, Wash. -  Seattle University women's soccer senior defender Jordan Salisbury(Federal Way, Wash.) was named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week after helping the Redhawks (7-3) put together a perfect weekend of work at the UNLV NIKE Invitational.At the tournament, Salisbury was a major contributor in the Redhawks come-from-behind victory over host-UNLV on Sept. 16. After allowing the Rebels to score an early go-ahead goal, the veteran defender rallied the Redhawk defensive efforts to prevent UNLV from getting on the board again. Their efforts also allowed the SU offense to send in a pair of second half goals to earn a 2-1 victory. Two days later, she connected with Mary Hill's free kick to head in the Redhawks opening goal in their 3-1 victory over San Diego State, who has been in the national rankings this season. Salisbury has started in all 10 games this season and has had a significant part in Seattle U's three shutouts this year, including a 2-0 win over then-No. 8 Portland on Sept. 2. In addition, she has been an integral part of Seattle U's offensive efforts. She's scored three goals this season, all headers, and is the team's second-leading scorer. "Jordan has had a great season thus far and I'm happy for her to receive this honor," said head coachJulie Woodward. "She's had an incredible year, not only in terms of her defending, but she also has had some offensive productivity for us. She has scored three unbelievable goals and is a natural leader. Jordan is a true competitor and has been a major part in our wins this season." Salisbury, who is the second SU player to receive the CS360 weekly honor this season, and the Redhawks host their season home opener on Friday, Sept. 23, versus San Francisco.
